Wedding bar hire gives you three things a venue bar rarely does: a drinks list that actually sounds like you, a bar that photographs beautifully, and pricing you control. Our mobile bar hire is built around a restored Rice horsebox that becomes a feature of the day rather than a queue in the corner.
You choose how it's paid for — complimentary against a minimum spend, a flat hire fee with a guest-pay bar, a fully hosted tab, or dry hire with your own stock. We'll tell you honestly which model works out best for your numbers.
A mobile wedding bar also solves the venue problem. Marquees, barns and fields often have no bar at all, and the horsebox brings its own running water and amber lighting, so it works wherever you're celebrating.
Our wedding bar service, from first drink to last orders
We arrive well before your guests and are set up and pouring within around 90 minutes. From there, the day usually runs in three parts:
- Arrival drinks. Prosecco, a welcome cocktail or something alcohol-free, ready as guests leave the ceremony.
- The toast. Glasses filled and handed round before the speeches, so your venue team can focus on the meal.
- The evening bar. Signature serves, wine, beer and a spirits back bar through to last orders — hosted, guest-pay or a mix of both.
When the night ends, we pack down and leave the site clear.
Hiring bar staff for your wedding
Every staffed booking comes with two uniformed bartenders as standard, which comfortably covers most weddings. For bigger guest lists we scale the team up, so the bar stays quick at the busiest points of the day.
If your venue insists on its own licence or you've bought your own stock, you can still hire bar staff for your wedding through dry bar hire with our team — you supply the drinks, we bring the horsebox and pour them.

Can we bring our own alcohol?
Yes — that's dry hire. You supply the drinks under your own or your venue's licence and we provide the bar and, if you like, our bartenders to serve it. See our dry bar hire page for how it works.
How many drinks should we allow per guest?
As a rule of thumb: one welcome drink on arrival, half a bottle of wine per guest across the wedding breakfast, and two to three drinks per guest across the evening. We'll model it properly against your timings when we quote.
Do you serve outdoors or in a marquee?
Both. The horsebox is fully self-sufficient — it needs reasonably level hardstanding or firm ground and we handle the rest. Marquees, barns, country houses and field weddings all suit it.
Can you match the bar to our styling?
Yes. Menus, signage and bar dressing are designed to your palette, and our lighting and light-up letters can carry the same look across the room.
How many bar staff do we need for our wedding?
Two uniformed bartenders come as standard, which suits most weddings. For larger guest numbers we add more, so the queue stays short at the busy moments — straight after the speeches and when the dancing starts.
Can you serve in a marquee or a barn?
Yes. The horsebox carries its own running water and amber lighting, so it can stand outside a marquee, in a courtyard or inside a barn with vehicle access. Firm, reasonably level ground is all it really needs.
What's included in a wedding bar package?
A staffed wedding bar includes the horsebox, two uniformed bartenders as standard, a drinks menu designed with you, setup and breakdown, and licensing for staffed hire. Plastics are standard and glassware is available on request. Drinks packages are quoted per person.
Can guests pay for their own drinks at the evening reception?
Yes. A popular set-up is a hosted daytime (welcome drink and toast on you) followed by a guest-pay evening bar with card and contactless payment. We'll suggest the mix that suits your numbers.
Do you work with our venue's licence?
Yes. If your venue requires drinks to be sold under its own licence, dry hire with our staff lets us pour your stock legally. For staffed hire where we supply the drinks, we handle the licensing ourselves.
